22.07.2011

Jengafilm has filmed Jenny Lavarda, Italian climbing champion, throughout her training and performance during the 2011 IFSC Climbing World Championship in Arco, Italy.

The competition took place between 15th and 24th July in the beautiful town of the Trento province on the Garda Lake in northern Italy.

Jenny, a Redbull athlete, has been a young prodige of Italian climbing. She attended the championship to win the lead climbing title, of her most important battles, after months of hard training in italy

Jenny, nicknamed Lady Geco, is 28 years old and has been a Redbull athlete for years. Since she began her adventure in the world of sport climbing around the age of 15, she has won 22 Italian titles and 5 world titles, as well as many other minor titles.

Jengafilm followed and filmed Jenny during her whole preparation for the championship. After fighting one of her hardest sporting battles, measuring herself with the strongest female climbers in the world, she reached the semifinals and earned the 14th place. She was left out of the 8 finalist athletes for one mere

In the clip produced by Jengafilm for Redbull to introduce the championship, Jenny talks about herself and shows what a strong willpower she has. She is an extraordinary athlete, who has amazed her fans since she was a child. She was the first Italian woman to climb an 8c, a grade that takes climbers to the limits of human possibilities. Further successes will not come late for her, both in official competitions and on the world's best clmibing walls.

Soon Redbull will also present the video on Jenny's adventure at the championship, which is entirely produced by Jengafilm. Christian Cinetto of Jengafilm, still working on the final editing, says: “Jenny was in the race for the final until the end. After astonishing the climbing world when she was a child, the audience at Arco did not expect her to climb so well, being 28. But she showed she can, thanks to months of hard training and a top performance."

Christian adds: “Following Jenny throughout the training and the tournament has been a very intense experience for Jengafilm. Jenny has galvanised us with her determination, and the atmosphere in Arco during the championship was fantastic. Seven hundred athletes attended the tournament, and the whole town rocked with excitement for the tournament. Finally, filming Jenny has been particularly emotional for me, because of my past as a climber and my passion for the mountain environment."
